Paris Paul illustration Beret Beauty, Frenchie & Kitty © Shell Sherree |
Ever feel like you're being watched?
Today's Paris fashion illustration sees our beret-bearing beauty under close scrutiny ... or rather I suspect it's the spread on the table that really has their attention! This cute French bulldog and his black cat sidekick are notorious in Paris for their pastry-nabbing capers ...
just take a look here if you don't believe me.
Our backdrop is one of the iconic black shopfronts of the
PAUL bakery/pâtisseries throughout Paris, France and the world. Their heritage harks back to a family business that started in 1889 with the Mayot family in the Artois region in northern France where Charlemagne Mayot and his wife had their own bakery. In the early 1950s as the family business grew, they acquired the already-established bakery/pâtisserie PAUL. They introduced the distinctive all-black facades across their stores and ~ much like the sustainably produced winter wheat in their rustic breads ~ continued to flourish from there.
You can read all about them and find their store locations here. And on that note ...
Happy Francophile Friday to you!
