Fashionable Friday: Lilac, Ladurée and Fluffballs
{Fashion illustration : Lilac, Ladurée and Fluffballs © Shell-Sherree} |
Anyhoo, in honour of both 'hemis' of the sphere moving between summer and winter, let's team a lovely, soft, cashmere cardigan with a skirt that flows around us on a gossamer fairy cloud, in a suitably nebulous shade of lilac ~ or is it lilacish grey ~ or perhaps dusty aubergine ? {You can imagine the hell I go through choosing a wall colour.} Our kitty and Frenchie have no such concerns. They are merely willing us to stop fluffing around and open that hat box-sized serving of Ladurée macarons. In keeping with the vague nature of today's illustration and post, it has every flavour you can imagine. Hours of indecision await. And on that note ...
Happy Fashionable Friday Fluffiness to you !
FLUFF ON OVER TO MY PETITE BOUTIQUE OF PRINTS
Often, what one perceives to be their worst traits are also their best, viewed differently. As in, you're not indecisive—you're thorough. You're not fickle; you're flexible. That said, you've come up with the perfect outfit for fence-sitting (or sitting anywhere, for that matter). As for me, no indecision regarding macarons: make mine caramel au fleur de sel, s'il te plait.
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Alexa ! I love that I see so many possibilities but it tuckers me out at times. :) Caramel au fleur de sel sounds perfect ! {Though in an hour's time, I might say 'framboise, s'il te plaît ...' ;) } Bon weekend, ma chère!
DeleteAnd that outfit would be perfect for transitioning from spring to summer like we are here in the north. Absolutely lovely as usual my friend.
ReplyDeleteI was just going to email you and discovered that somehow when I changed my email you are no longer in my contacts :-(.
Wanted to tell you that I just watched an interesting movie filmed entirely in Paris and thought of you...."My Old Lady" with Kevin Kline and Maggie Smith. I think they were living in your Paris apartment;-)
Michelle (or Mee-shellah)
Thanks, dear Mee-shellah ! I missed that movie but will add it to my list. I'm very curious to check out what they were doing in my Paris apartment. ;) {Thank you for letting me know about the emails ~ I shall be in touch so we can remedy the situation!} Baci, bella.
DeleteI love the way you look at things, Shell, especially when you feature my favorite colors, gray and lilac.
ReplyDeleteAlexa, you too have a wonderful way of seeing things. "...what one perceives to be their worst traits are also their best, viewed differently," that's brilliant.
I thought you'd enjoy this colourway, dear Petrea !! As for Alexa ~ yes, indeed. Such sage souls I have for company here ~ I'm blessed.
DeleteThat is exactly how I dress, and the depicted poor dear, just like myself, looks graciously weary after a hard day's housework, and needs a little sit-down. Where I part company with her is that I have foolishly never thought to rest my weary feet on a Laudrée box.
ReplyDeleteShe does look like you, dear Mise ! And I'm sure you have a perfectly lovely footstool to go with your Louis chair ...
DeleteI like your depiction of buttons - they have character
ReplyDeleteThanks, PA !! I'm rather fond of tufted upholstery ...
DeleteOh, I think the dusty aubergine! And the macarons, of course. Simply lovely!!
ReplyDeleteDusty aubergine, and violet-flavoured macarons to match, Ms M. Suits you beautifully.
DeleteI wonder if she was wearing last year’s color? As you know in Paris the color last year was called “Radiant Orchid” a combination of lilac, mauve, grey and very light aubergine. With a soft sweater in the “grège” shade (in French grège is a grey and beige color that can be either cold or warm depending of the combination) the outfit would be renewed. Nice drawing of the pets, too.
ReplyDeleteRadiant Orchid sounds like an evergreen colour for souls of the subtle persuasion, Vagabonde. A thoughtful and fascinating observation ~ thank you !!
