Today's Paris fashion illustration is inspired by this extravagant Dior gown. I could have easily been more modest in the translation, but it seems I'm not above showing a little leg. We've stopped well short of doing a Cancan. {Come to think of it, I don't know why ! Therein lies an illustration for another day.}
Behold the function in this form. Much macaron contraband can be obscured in the generous fall of the skirt ~ and it's ideal for kitty smuggling if the invitation states No Cats Allowed {though that could be grounds for a protest in the finest of Parisian traditions.} And on that note ...

I much prefer your version to the Dior original. And Dior's model looks like she wouldn't dream of stashing contraband macarons, much less petit chats! No, you win (comme toujours) for style, whimsy, and knowing that funny and sexy are pretty much the same thing! Bon weekend, ma belle!

DeleteI agree with Alexa. Your model seems to be wearing the dress. Whereas the photographic version has me convinced the model could leave the dress and it would be standing on it's own.
ReplyDeleteGood point, PA !! Maybe it's actually a cardboard cutout gown. It's a very good one, if that's the case.
DeletePA is right, the dress will stand on its own without a model. Your illustration is a picture of a person in a dress, not a dress on a person.
