Fashionable Friday : Kittens on the Keys
{Fashion illustration : Kittens on the Keys © Shell-Sherree} |
Any suggestions as to our playlist while we see how many upright pianos we can squeeze into one Parisian apartment {with balcony}? There's also a pianola in the corner if anyone wants to work off their miniature salted caramel scrolls and champagne. And on that note ...
Happy Fashionable Friday to you !

Such perfect turquoise tulle, if tulle is the word I'm thinking of, and its gossamer nature ably depicted. But I have always been assured that miniature salted caramel scrolls and champagne contain no calories: have I been cruelly deceived?
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Misa, and forgive me ~ you are quite right, but of course ! It was purely for restoring marginal possible molecular imbalance that might occur from the combination of salted caramel with champagne ... which is a calorie-free equation, nonetheless.
DeletePlease forgive me if this is commented twice but I'm still getting used to my new computer (Windows 8.1...which Google Chrome doesn't seem to like or maybe it's the other way around).
ReplyDeleteAnyway bella Shell, I'm glad to see kitty back and I wish you and the delightful Ella a happy weekend (first day of spring in the northern hemisphere).
Ciao, ciao,
Michelle and Diavolo
Only one comment arrived, bella ! I couldn't let another post go by sans-kitty and decided to spread the fur-colour-love around while I was at it, given my black cat bias usually prevails. {Ella sulked at first but she's agreed to be charitable.} Baci to you and Diavolo!
DeleteWell, I suppose we could start with this, but does it seem cliche? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3Kvu6Kgp88
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the full "Making Whoopee" scene from "The Fabulous Baker Boys," but the trailer is fun.

For cliches such as this we should pray, Petrea. A classic. And thank you for the trailer ~ that little touch of Making Whoopee hit the spot. Next clip that came up after that for me was her singing one of my favourite songs ever, My Funny Valentine. Chris Botti's version is up on the playlist closer to midnight. Can hardly wait until his concert here in Brisbane in July ...
DeleteHow about a little Rossini, ma belle:
ReplyDeleteDuetto Buffo di Due Gatti
This outfit is perfect for a piano performance!
Haha ~ perfetto, Alexa ! {And I'm glad you like the outfit ~ thank you, ma chère ... }
DeleteLovely, lovely! Perfect for a little "Body & Soul"

Thank you, Ms M !! And yours is the next roll up on the pianola ... nice choice!
DeleteI missed this one. That drawing of the piano is to die for...
ReplyDeleteYour probably a lot younger then I am but when I was a kid we used to trade cards. They were playing cards without the numbers etc printed on them. The most valued was a card called kitten on the keys. It came in pink or blue. I almost want to say that the tradition probably started when cards would slip through the manufacturing process of double printing. A way to cut losses was to package them up and sell for trading??? anyhow -- memory lane
I won't 'fess up to ages just this moment, PA, but those cards sound very, very sweet !! They don't ring a bell but I suspect perhaps we didn't have them at all here in Australia. A lovely story. {Glad you like the piano, thank you! :) }
