Francophile Friday: Peter's Paris Whimsy
{Peter's Paris Whimsy: ink & watercolour illustration © Shell-Sherree} |
Observe if you will how many chairs we have to fill ~ we're long overdue for a catch-up! Here's a little something whimsically appropriate to wear {a very little something, actually ~ some might like a petticoat ~ and look what colour it happens to be... so predictable, I am}. As they probably don't serve violet macarons, here's a
Happy Francophile Friday to you!
PS: Please do click on the image to embiggen. I tried loading the large size but désolée, it's too large for the page format. Sniff...
My, you have some bossy friends! ;-) It turned out wonderful! Perfect place for a Shell meet up. BTW I have blouses longer than that dress! LOL.
ReplyDeleteHee ~ I certainly do have some bossy friends, Cali, in the nicest possible way. And thank heavens for that. ;) {I don't think I've worn a dress that short since I was in primary school. Pretty as it is, I don't plan to start now ~ I have more petticoats being whipped up as we speak...}
DeleteLove the VM photo. Aren't you just craving one? LOL.
DeleteHow did you know... LOL!
DeleteYour picture is perfectly beautiful, Shell, and your colour tones give it a delightful quality of bleached heat that make it surpass its nearly equally delightful original. I am clicking away, knitting suitable leg-warmers to match that very fetching dress.
ReplyDeleteOh, leg-warmers are the perfect solution, dear Mise ~ I wish I'd thought of that! Thank you.
DeleteExquise! Comme toujours. J'aime trop ces macarons-la.
ReplyDeleteMerci, Wendy ~ and I hope you have some macarons on the menu in your very near future.
DeleteSo lovely to see you :). That photo does look familiar. I'm sure I've taken a shot of the same place in winter. Must find it.....
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see you too, Debs. :) And that's a nice thing to have to search for ...
Deletei love this illo and its inspiration in (almost) equal measure. I would be thrilled to meet you here, dressed in lovely lavender, for matching macarons and a nice cuppa. So good to see you here again, ma belle!
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear Alexa! It's good to be back ~ it won't be as long between cuppas and macarons next time, ma chère.
DeleteWonderful ilo!! And I see Kitty is waiting there as our maitre d'. I think I'd put leg warmers with the dress, too. The lavender macarons would make such an exquisite gift!
ReplyDeleteThe best kind of maitre d', Ms M. ;) Boxed macarons would certainly make a lovely gift ~ pack one, eat one, pack one, eat one... Good thinking, Ninety-Nine.
DeleteYour picture is not showing for me today, ma chere, but I saw it on Facebook and loved it. Meanwhile, I came by for my kitty bag.
ReplyDeleteNaughty Blogger, not showing up my piccie for you, Petrea. I'll have to put it in the timeout corner. I hope the kitty bag made up for it. :)
DeleteI'm so glad you mentioned the embiggen tip: it makes the exquisite detail so much easier to see. It's gorgeous illo, Shell.
ReplyDeletep.s. Love the dress (I'll take mine with leg warmers, too), and the model is adorable.
Thanks, Susan! {And she is adorable, isn't she. Love her hair.}
DeleteSuch a pretty scene, and such a pretty dress. It matches perfectly. I have a feeling I would look absolutely stupid in it. I'll leave it to the lithe ladies.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, I'm on a mission now to choose you something you'd feel good in. I shall return in due course... ;)
DeleteI do love the color of those chairs - now only of krylon would come up with a like color
ReplyDeleteSitting in one of those chairs would have to plant a smile on one's dial, PA.
Deletewow, I haven't been here in a while - glad I came, I wouldn't have wanted to miss this gorgeous piece Miss Sherree - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear Lily! I haven't been here in a while, either. ;) Soon...
ReplyDeleteShell,
ReplyDeleteThis week, Genie and I went with Peter to deliver a copy of your sweet illo. It was a pleasure to meet him as I've photographed this place so many times myself.
Bises from Paris, along with Alexa and Genie!
V
