Francophile Friday: Dior Noël au Printemps
Inspiration: Dior's Christmas windows, Printemps, Paris ~ illustration by Shell-Sherree |
May your Christmas and festive season be filled with love and laughter, no matter how you choose to celebrate. Thank you for another year of beautiful friendship and flights of imagination. I'll do my usual and enjoy a little R&R with my nearest and dearest {the ones who live here, that is!} See you in a couple of weeks or so. Group hug, my sweets. And on that note...
Happy Francophile Friday {and Festive Frivolities} to you!
Just coming by to support your Francophile Fryday & wunderful blog.
ReplyDeleteMerriest Christmas to you down under from us up above!
This is the way the world ends, not with a whimper but a bang. Merry Christmas Shell.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas windows of Printemps are magic... Thank you for your charming interpretation of these fantastic shop windows. I adore your drawings.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
Nath.
That's how one should dress when on a carousel. You managed to sneak kitty in there. Almost missed her. Fantastic illo, Shell. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely daydream and illo! I love carousels (and it's fitting that this one allows kitties).
ReplyDeleteHave a magical holiday, dear Shell! (Give Ella a hug for me & Macie)
Yes! Group hug! And happy Christmas to all. Let's meet in Paris one of these years, or at least fantasize about it.
ReplyDeleteCafe ~ always grand to see you. Thank you ~ have a beautiful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hiker. I figured it never hurts to go out in style. ;)
Nathanaëlle ~ I'm happy you like my spin on their exquisite windows. Thank you ~ and a merry and bright Christmas to you, too.
Cali ~ I'm tempted to do a 'count the kitties' challenge for this one. ;) Thanks again for pointing me in the Dior-Printemps direction ~ so lovely.
If ever there was a time to sneak in some extra kitties, Ms M, it's Christmas. Hugs to you and Macie from Ella and me.
Petrea ~ that's still a dream of mine. Let's keep the fantasy alive.
Those aren't furry belts? ;)
DeleteShould read faux fur.
DeleteOr lap warmers, Cali. ;) {And these ones are allowed to be real fur. One of those rare instances...}
DeleteShSh, and it's also always a grand day when you come up to say, "Hello!"
DeletePopping over now, Cafe!
DeleteWow I love your interpretation of the Dior window! (And great call Cali to forward the fun video to Shell!) I would happily wear that beautiful gown you've chosen and sit in the Dior window with the fascinating marionettes eating gold leaf macarons! Have a wonderful holiday break and I can't wait to see what amazing treats you have for us in the new year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful illio to end the year!
ReplyDeleteI went past David Jones a couple of days ago and smiled at the children with noses pressed against the display windows, looking at the marionettes. Some things don't need to change.
Merry Christmas and here's to a fantastic and fancy filled 2013.

Yes, a wonderful illo and daydream to end the year, Shell! Big hugs and brrrts from me and you-know-who to you and Ella! ♥
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear Katie! Those gold leaf macarons take it up a notch ~ they'd be pretty spectacular for New Year's as well. Looking forward to catching up again very soon.
ReplyDeleteDebs ~ beautifully said. Some things don't need to change. {Or as someone wise once said, "If it's not broken, don't fix it.} Merry Christmas to you, my sweet.
Favourite Vintage Finds ~ such a shame our fur kids are unlikely to ever meet. But hopefully we will. Happy holidays to you and you-know-who from Ella and me. Brrt! x
So romantic! I'm wrapping presents and am inspired by this illo to make them look extra-elegant. You know what that means, don't you? Lots of big poufy ribbon! Hoping everyone here has a wonderful holiday, with extra good wishes to ma chère Shell!
ReplyDeleteAlexa ~ I'm with you: it's all about the ribbon!! Merry Christmas, ma chère.
ReplyDeleteMerry, merry Christmas to you, Shell, and thank you for consistently lifting us up to your more pastel and elegant plane of being. I wish you all the beautiful frivolity you deserve this season.

Mise
Hi Shell ~ wishing you a dazzling Christmas and a fabulous 2013!
ReplyDeleteLL
Thanks, dear Mise! It's my honour and privilege to add as much pasteliciousness to the world as I can. Merry Christmas to you, Scottish Husband and your beautiful rowdies.
ReplyDeleteDear Lori Lynn ~ thank you. Wishing you a delicious festive season, too.
Your ginger-haired marionettes are sweeter than their Dior counterparts, perhaps because kitties are ensconced in their gowns? I hope your Christmas was filled with magic, Shell. Love to you and Ella!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! I couldn't let the chance to add extra gratuitous kitties pass me by. Hoping your Christmas was a beauty ~ hugs to you and your gorgeous fur kids.
ReplyDeleteI hope all was calm and bright--and full of macarons.
ReplyDeleteRight back at you, Margaret!
ReplyDeletelook forward to more of your gorgeous posts next year and your exquisite artworkx xx thanks for all your encouragement x
ReplyDeleteThank YOU, dkshopgirl! Here's to a merry and bright New Year... x

ReplyDeleteCiao, con baci
Grazie mille, bella! Baci e abbracci!
ReplyDeleteNot blogging much lately so I must apologize for the late Happy New year. Love that video. Unicorns! I say you name your white horse Nia. ad a white horse for a decade and that was her name. Sort of. Nee Sha Sha which (supposedly) translates into "The White Lady" in Navaho. I called her Nia
ReplyDeleteHappy new Year !
ReplyDeleteKisses from France,
Pasadena Adjacent ~ I'm likewise, so let's agree no apologies are necessary. ;) I hope your New Year is off to a lovely start, and our white horse is hereby dubbed Nia in your fair lady's honour!
ReplyDeleteBisous, Nathanaëlle! Happy New Year to you, too.
Great minds....just posted a Printemps photo on my FB page. We are destined to see Paris together sweet Shell.
