Today is officially the second of spring here. The scent of jasmine has been teasing the air for a couple of weeks now. And finally, it's official. What better way to express gratitude for the exchange of seasons than with some happy blooms and a cheeky little bird. And a little splish-splash of matching Bombay Sapphire when the temperature catches up with the calendar. And on that note...
Happy Friday Fleurish to you!
Jasmine is Spring.
ReplyDeleteJasmine macaron.
Oh soooo sweet Shell! Happy Spring! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, the scent of jasmine and a Bombay Gin - how I envy you your spring. And how perfectly the bird's head hints at the delightful blue of the bottle.
ReplyDeleteWait, it's the second day of spring? I knew you had opposites seasons from us, but I didn't know they actually started on different days. What days do the seasons change in Australia?
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I don't drink so may I just have a sapphire? Set in diamonds? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCafe ~ a jasmine macaron would be a beautiful way to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy our first weekend of spring, Favourite Vintage Finds...
Mise ~ I'm very happy to welcome the warm weather migration from your hemisphere to ours.
Margaret ~ we're very practical here! The first of the month every 3 months is when we change seasons: 1st Sep, Dec, March and June.
Pop Culture Nerd ~ err, no worries! I'm sure Hugh must know someone who knows someone...
A lovely fleurish! Now I'm thinking of jasmine, even as it's turning to fall here. Happy Spring to you!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I can only imagine the smell... heavenly! Have a gorgeous weekend, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteHow happy your little aquabird of happiness looks! Spring becomes him/her. Can almost smell fall in the air here.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to be able to enjoy the first days of spring from your ever-charming perspective—even as we'll soon be putting away the gin and heating up the mulled wine over here on the other side of our little planet. Enjoy the season, mon amie!
ReplyDeleteThis tweeter couldn't be sweeter! Yay for the arrival of Spring down under. The jasmine bushes in my neighborhood have finally lost their buds but I'm happy to hear they're now in bloom there. Enjoy the change of seasons!
ReplyDeleteYour little blue feathered bird is so delightful perched atop those pretty spring blooms - what a cheeky face!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week-end Shell - I'm off to Palm Cove for les vacances!
Ms M ~ autumn is also such a lovely time of year. Enjoy...
ReplyDeleteKellie ~ a happy weekend to you and your sweet little fluff-balls.
Cali ~ spring is very becoming! I can feel some dresses in my near future.
Thanks, dear Alexa. And all the best with the mulled wine transition.
Katie ~ they are the first thing I smell when I arrive home. Mmm.
Have a gorgeous holiday, Dianne!!
I can almost hear the flutter of excitement in your heart, Shell. Is spring your favorite season? Mine's fall, so I'm happy it's just around the corner. Love the little birdie: a special tweat, errr, treat!
ReplyDeleteI am excited, Susan! I love autumn, too, but for me there's something extra-special about spring. Partly because I feel the cold, so it's a relief to know my extremities are about to start their annual thaw...
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling blue bird of spring, a season to spread your wings for sure. I'll take some of that matching splish-splash, mon amie!
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
Here's it's the 21st. Why? Because we insist on being difficult.
ReplyDeleteShell, apparently I must be contrary by preferring the basket to the bird. I need it in my garden. It's charming. Did you design it? I think you did, you're so good at that sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of contrary: contrary to popular belief, we do have seasons in southern California and, like Susan, I can feel autumn coming. It's going to be a beautiful one.
Absolutely, Genie ~ *splish-splash*
ReplyDeleteMargaret ~ I'm not sure ~ perhaps we're the ones being difficult.
Petrea ~ I think you could fashion one from chicken wire and a couple of wire coathangers. Perhaps you and Boz could have a craft day.
Is this the canary that ate the cat?
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring! And you all have the right idea -- the earlier the better. No point dragging this winter business on and on.
Hiker ~ I heard last night that a cold snap is forecast for the weekend. We can circle dates on the calendar as much as we like, and Mother Nature will do as she pleases.
