It isn't easy keeping one's fluffy tail high and dry when visiting Venice. This well-travelled little Easter Bunny has excelled. The welcoming committee is in the apartment upstairs, plumping up pillows, scrubbing the finest of carrots and washing freshly plucked leaves.
{Grazie mille to dear Danielle of VenetiaMicio for the beautiful photo inspiration.} I've just finished whipping up some dark chocolate truffles for our turndown service.
{Mind the cocoa dust on your linen pillowcase.} Your vaporetto driver is tapping his foot impatiently... please mind your step and keep your own tail high and dry as you make your way through the canals to our weekend destination. And on that note...
Happy Venerdi in Venice and a safe and peaceful Easter to you!
Can't wait to join little bunny Foo-Foo—and you—for Easter eggs and jelly beans in Venezia. As for the turn-down service: All the best accommodations have cocoa dust on the pillowcases!
ReplyDeleteBabalu is waiting for EB. I think California is his last stop. Happy Easter, Shell.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there, but I can't promise to stay dry and fluffy. Though I suppose those canals aren't fit for swimming. In your illustrations they always look so inviting.
ReplyDeleteHightail is a very sure-footed bunny balancing on the bridge as he does. I suppose he gets a lot of practice travelling the globe. So nice of the welcoming party to prepare carrots and leaves for him. Oh, and dark chocolate truffles! Sounds like heaven. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAh... just can't get enough of Venice! Beautiful picture as always.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Easter weekend!
How wonderful ... I'm completely jealous! One of my friends went to Tuscany a couple of weeks ago and now you're in Venice? Enjoy those truffles and have a wonderful Easter :-)
ReplyDeleteI just lost 20 minutes staring at that and imagining myself there eating dark chocolate with the Easter Bunny. It's so gorgeous, Shell, as are Danielle's photos. Lots of inspiration there!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to all and a blissful Easter if you celebrate it.
Hightailing it there now! Happy Easter Shell! xo
ReplyDeleteAlexa ~ I'm thinking you would be well-versed in the art of cocoa dusting.
ReplyDeleteHiker ~ I hope EB has been studying insurance law in his downtime.
You'd be gamer than me, Petrea. Romantic as they are, I suspect my illos airbrush those canals.
Susan ~ kitty does not look alarmed, so I'm thinking our bunny is indeed sure-pawed.
Thanks, AnnaLivia ~ my pleasure!
dkshopgirl ~ just in our imaginations. You're invited, of course...
Pop Culture Nerd ~ your vaporetto driver phoned me. He understands you losing 20 minutes while enjoying your daydream, but he has loaded your pile of trunks and would like you to hop it downstairs to him, pronto.
Favourite Vintage Finds ~ yay! Easter hugs to you and "Brrrt".
Me English isn't good enough to fully understand all the words and what is under the words but I love your post and the comments !
ReplyDeleteNo Easter bunny in France but bells coming back from Rome (no bell ringing between Thursday and Sunday)where they spend the "Semaine Sainte" and dropping chocolate eggs on their trip back, for the great pleasure of kids.
So have a nice Easter and a successful "Chasse aux oeufs".
Lovely architecture! Venice truly is amazing! Enjoy the wonderful weekend, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteI bet this fluffy bunny will find it very difficult to leave beautiful Venice, especially when the kitty committee has made it such a comfy and pleasurable place to stay for a while. I know I wouldn't leave! Thank you for offering up a lovely place to spend Easter weekend.
ReplyDeleteHah! I haven't thought about little bunny Foo-Foo in a long time but will be singing that song all day!
ReplyDeleteI'll start with a few carrots and then move on to the truffles, merci! This is adorable.
A glorious Easter to you, dear Shell!
G
So, the EB mustn't be French then or he would be in Rome along with the bells. Perhaps he can hitch a ride with them on their way back. That is, if they can tear him away from Venice and Miss Kitty. Would be such a pity to be in Europe and not visit France!
ReplyDeleteMay your Easter be filled with sweet delights, Shell.
Excellent! I'll join Bunny, Kitty, and all the rest of you for a marvelous Easter weekend in Venice....
ReplyDelete(O-ooooo the truffles!!)
Marylène ~ thank you for the insight into your French Easter traditions! Wishing you a successful "Chasse aux oeufs", too.
ReplyDeleteKellie ~ and the light in Venice has to be seen ~ it's something special. Enjoy the extra-long weekend with your loved ones.
Katie ~ all clocks and calendars have been removed. Unwind for as long as you wish...
Genie ~ good move. Carrots will line the stomach and the chocolate can slide past inconspicuously.
Cali ~ our bunny must surely visit France {or Paris at the very least} incognito once his official duties have been wrapped up...
Excellent, Ms M! The truffle list is extensive.
Ravie de voir cette jolie vue que j'aime, sous ton pinceau, tu as rendu l'atmosphère du lieu parfaitement ! bravissimo !!!
ReplyDeletebisous à bientôt
Danielle
Merci, Danielle ~ tu es très gentille. Bisous...
ReplyDeleteOh I love your cute little EB! Meeps sends tons of love as do I dear Shell.
ReplyDeleteV
Right back at both of you, dear V! In case you didn't spy this on my Facebook page, here's a fine little black boy kitty for Meeps to admire.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup, a presto !
ReplyDeleteBonjour, Maïté ~ merci! Thank you for visiting...
ReplyDeleteI would very much like some of those truffles, please.
ReplyDeleteIs one dozen enough for starters, Margaret? No problem...
ReplyDeleteA belated Happy EAster to you too Shell! I've been travelling up your way but managed to bypass Brisbane ... drove through Esk instead. My brother and Micha have a new baby girl :) ... and the word verification is
ReplyDelete"pramolo"!! Hilarious.
Oh, hello, MmeB! So lovely to hear from you ~ Happy belated Easter to you, too. That's beautiful news about baby brother and Micha ~ you must be so thrilled. One of these days, we will be in the same place at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI've been in bed with the bug all during the break so have missed this little trip. I'm sure you're relaxing in front of the telly at the moment waiting to see WHAT WILL KATE WEAR????? so I will say a happy belated Easter to you and I will catch our next little trip of whimsy. x :)
ReplyDeleteOh, sorry to hear about the bug, Debs. I'll be watching the wedding after the event but I did manage to catch them coming onto the balcony, so I have indeed seen WHAT KATE WORE. ;) Have a lovely weekend...
