Lately, I've been seeing a lot of our Hugh in a TV commercial. And while I'm thoroughly enjoying the viewing pleasure, between you and me, I think he has too much time on his hands. Far better that we keep him fully occupied, steering our gondola tea party around Venice and scattering us with rose petals. So our mission this weekend, should you choose to accept it, is to ensure that drinking iced tea is far from his mind. Unless it's in our company, of course. Micio is amused by our antics just out of sight in the canal below.
Thanks to dear Danielle of VenetiaMicio for graciously allowing me to use her
gorgeous photos for inspiration. If you haven't ventured over to her place yet, I whole-heartedly recommend it. It's a wonderful opportunity to exercise your French language muscles as well if you're so inclined. The best of both worlds. And on that note...
Happy Venerdi in Venice to you!
Psst: You only have until noon Brisbane time Thursday 7th October to enter the giveaway draw to celebrate my 2nd blogoversary. Just pop over here to enter...
Miaou, c'est moi Micio, je suis très fier d'être "croqué" par la douce Shelley, peut-être que la prochaine fois on écrira une petite histoire sur moi.
ReplyDeleteGrazie, thank you et merci
Un gros câlin et a presto
MICIO
Yes, oui, si to all of it: gliding around Venice all weekend with our boy Hugh, enjoying the glorious images at VenetiaMicio (ou je visite silencieusement), and your wonderful interpretation, dear Shell. I see that Micio is appropriately chuffed!
ReplyDeleteI'm already on that gondola waiting for the rest of you. Could we venture to offer him something very mildly alcoholic to gauge its effect?
ReplyDeleteWow! This is beautiful. It would be perfect for a foyer! Enjoy the weekends! Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteThere's only so much Hugh to go around, so I'm sipping Campari in the home with the balcony. I'm just inside the door so that's why you can't see me.
ReplyDeleteI'm with AH, and she's not even sharing.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to tell tales out of school, but Margaret shows up with an empty glass and never the bottle. 'Nuf said.
ReplyDeleteMicio ~ merci! C'est mon honneur de faire un dessin de toi. It's my pleasure, indeed! Bisous à toi et ta mère...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alexa! We'll set a leisurely course so the dark chocolate fountain doesn't spill over.
Mise ~ I'm game if you are.
Kellie ~ a lovely idea! Have a beautiful weekend...
Hiker, Margaret ~ Hugh's already left a couple of crates of Campari for you and fluffed the cushions on the chaise. I swear he's part Eveready Bunny.
Oh, THAT Hugh! OK, count me in, late starter, but never mind.
ReplyDeleteVenice looks so lovely! One day I really must visit.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if there is enough Hugh to go around so I will leave him to you ladies. Don't worry: I am in the process of looking for a replacement. WV is trying to help: decti, as in my what a big decti you have! ;-)
P.S. Man, your French is good!
Shell, I'm coming with you and Alexa but we'll get AH to bring the Campari.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely, perfect in its detail avec le petit chat, the wrought iron, the shadow on the water, and the soft colors. I always feel like I am gushing, but it is without shame. meep.
Bises,
Genie
Yvonne ~ yes, that Hugh. Not George, but not shabby either. We'll pick you up shortly ~ then next stop, risotto for dinner!
ReplyDeleteCali ~ oh, hop on board ~ the more the merrier {and I want to distract you from that naughty WV!} :) Besides, I think Hiker and Margaret already have lampshades hanging on their heads.
Aww, thank you, Genie! And good choice to join us on the gondola, though I wouldn't count on Hiker for the Campari. {See note to Cali above.} It's ok, we have an emergency stash on board.
Genie, It's perfectly acceptable to gush here.
ReplyDeleteAH, I have an empty glass as well. Fill er up!
Shsh, Another great one. Meeps is in my lap purring and begging to go to visit that cute kitty.
Miaou right back! Such a delightful scene, and wow what a party going on just inside! Love that the kitty looks so happy out on the veranda. I'll try to find some Campari macarons and will be right over! (I found an ad online with Hugh where he turns into Fred Astaire after drinking tea; not sure if that's what you're talking about but it was a cute ad.)
ReplyDeleteMy cats are very jealous of your kitty's perch. They do not have a view quite that grand. :)
ReplyDeleteSign me up for a gondola tea party anytime.
How pretty Kitty looks standing on the balcony ~ I think she's waiting for Hugh to bring her some cat food (freshly caught from the canal of course) but just maybe ~ he's otherwise engaged ~ pity about that.
ReplyDelete~Dianne~
Thanks, V! Glug, glug, glug. Here's a top-up for you and some milk for Meeps.
ReplyDeleteKatie ~ Campari macarons? You're onto something! And yes, that's the ad. {I just realised my link wasn't clear in the text, so I fixed it, thank you!!} Very cute!
All Things French ~ I think he's just one step removed from Superman, so I suspect he caught something fresh and dropped it off for Micio when he delivered the Campari.
Such a delightful view! I think I'll join Kitty in a lovely daydream....
ReplyDeleteMs M ~ there's room ~ and it's peaceful out there on the balcony. ;)
ReplyDeleteToo busy and tired to read all the comments, but I really wanted to tell you I love your work and especially this interpratation of Venise !! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAlways lovely to see you, Marylène ~ et Merci!
