Francophile Friday: Aqua with Pink by a Whisker
ink & watercolour weensy meep miniature, 2.5 x 3.5" [6.5 x 9cm ] ACQUIRE A MEEP |
Aqua with pink is one of my favourite combinations. Pink with aqua is another. No wonder I was so taken with Virginia's photo taken in Bray sur Seine, not too far from Paris. {Thanks yet again, dear V!} The kitty was a bonus, though I'd have included one regardless, so I took liberty with a spot of hairbrushing and gave her longer whiskers.
Before we amble into the French countryside for the weekend, just a little heads-up that I'll only be posting on Fridays again for the next little while, so I'll be very much looking forward to catching up with you all this time next week for another adventure! And on that note...
Happy Francophile Friday to you!
I like the cat and that the house is in pink. So lovely! Enjoy a beautiful weekend, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteCe joli village et ces tons pastels s'accordent à ravir avec tes dessins. Ton petit chat est adorable avec ses grandes moustaches, on pourrait s'imaginer qu'il a même un petit coeur sur la poitrine...
ReplyDeleteIt's children'holidays at this moment and Tosca is with me.
I write you the next week.
bisous
Danielle
Aqua with pink, or pink with aqua: the decorator's constant dilemma. The former sounds a bit more manly, doesn't it, for the poker room wherein one would hang this meep to bring a bit of culture to the beer-drinking gamblers?
ReplyDeleteAnother precious watercolor and a lovely take on Virginia's photo. When I jumped over to take a look I even found a kitty just in the same spot!
ReplyDeleteOh, and today is Virginia's birthday, too! Shhhhhh....
Genie, thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteThis meep is charming, Shell. Do I overuse that word here? ("charming," not "Shell.")
I was going to say "charming" too, Petrea. I dream of a whole bunch of meeps displayed together in a special spot. Perhaps this kitty has a crush on Virginia's Meeps—or maybe the flower is for V, for her b-day today?
ReplyDeleteI hope the once a week posting means a lovely big commission. See you next week.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Virginia!
ReplyDeleteShell, I think you can draw something in brown, chartreuse & neon orange and still have it turn out stunning.
Have a gorgeous weekend!
Thanks, Kellie ~ I'm somehow not surprised that you like the pink house. :)
ReplyDeleteVenetiaMicio ~ merci! Je suis heureuse d'apprendre que Tosca reste chez toi pour ses vacances. Yay! Bisous...
Mise ~ I keep waiting for a Meep order for a poker room but it hasn't happened yet.
Genie ~ Virginia's birthday? Why, so it is! ;) I shall quietly whisper, "Happy birthday, dear Virginia."
Petrea ~ use of the word charming here is always welcome. Thank you!
Alexa ~ let's say kitty's heart/flower is for both Meeps and Virginia. Both are so easy to love, aren't they!
Hiker ~ it does at least mean I'm a bit snowed under. ;)
Thanks, PCN ~ say, you just reminded me of the 70s wallpaper in my childhood home. Happy weekend!
I'm having a hard time deciding which I like better -- the adorable kitty or the gorgeous little house! But why decide as they're both here and making me smile. Great way to start the weekend! Can't wait for the next installment next Friday.
ReplyDeleteYour little drawings are charming! Just the type of thing I want to start drawing. You're my new inspiration.
ReplyDeleteKatie ~ yes, no need to choose. You can have your cake and eat it too!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie ~ thank you! That's very sweet ~ I'm touched to have inspired you. Enjoy your artistic journey...
Cute kitty with loooong whiskers .. I just love all your art.
ReplyDeleteKitty has such long whiskers to bat and attract the male of the species!
ReplyDeleteI would gladly live in a home with such a color combo. Especially if the cute cat comes with it. But I've noticed your cats have such long tails. Are you a Manx-ist? ;-)
Wonderful piece! I like the pink-aqua combination too. Aqua has a lovely watery quality to it (to my eye). And Kitty looks very pleased. She must have just had a tuna treat.
ReplyDeleteBonjour Shell ~ how pretty Kitty looks in front of that ever so lovely pink & aqua house! She is so... happy because the're her very favourite colours and that makes her feel comfortable in her own skin... oops!I mean fur.
ReplyDelete~Dianne~
Thanks, GyPsY ~ I heard long whiskers were all the rage. :)
ReplyDeleteCali ~ and lashes to match. {"Manx-ist?" Hee hee!}
Ms M ~ I'm sure tuna like aqua too. ;)
Bonjour, All things French ~ yes, a very contented little kitty...
Just dropping by to catch up on your beautiful illustrations and adventures. Aqua and pink always go deliciously together. That colour combination reminds me of lollies.
ReplyDeletePardon, pardon, pardon!! How did this escape Meepsie et moi? I love this Shell as I do all of your lovely creations.Merci,
ReplyDeleteBTW, Meeps' widget appears on my B'ham blog now. Please go by and run your cursor over her and have her purr for you.

That house is made of the most lovely colors. This picture was meant for you. And I approve of the kitten embellishments. :D
ReplyDeleteDebs ~ I need musk sticks, now that you mention it!
ReplyDeleteVirginia ~ hahaha!! I adore Meepsie's widget ~ what a rumbling purr. Gorgeous!
Thanks, dear Amy ~ perhaps your own kitties are of the long-whiskered variety?
I have to say this is charming too! And one of my fave colour combos as well. The long whiskers do suit kitty. Hope you are not too snowed under Shell. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Favourite Vintage Finds ~ I'm still shovelling the snow but I think I'm making some headway! Happy rest-of-the-week to you & Higs.
ReplyDeleteThe kitties are always bonus. This blogging can get a bit tedious after a while. I get that. Enjoy yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret ~ the daily bloggers amaze me!
