One Day in Paris with Van Cleef & Arpels
The clip ends with a scene that's symbolic of this pendant.
Called Romance à Paris, it's made of white gold, lapis, turquoise, mother-of-pearl and diamonds. I love diamonds but being fair-skinned, I've always felt stones with colour suit me better. This has a little of both. So are diamonds always a girl's best friend? Perhaps it really depends on who the giver happens to be ...
Ah, ah, ah! There is actual heartache in not being there. What is that? How can one fall in love with a city?
ReplyDeleteIt's not just hype. All my life I saw the ads. But the city does not disappoint. I miss it, and I would rather stroll its streets than have diamonds or jewels of any kind.
Petrea ~ I still haven't been, so I have to keep dreaming... and from what you say, I'm sure she will be all that and more.
ReplyDeleteOooh, Shell, I don't wear that much jewelry (allergic to everything except gold and silver) but I'd love to have that pendant!
ReplyDeleteThough the diamond is my birth stone, I feel the same as you--I want a bit of color and this pendant perfectly includes a little bit of everything. It's so romantic...sigh.
PCN ~ yes, I can't imagine this delicate little treasure harming anything except one's bank balance.
ReplyDeleteI am greedy, or so I have been told and want Paris and the diamonds!!!
ReplyDeleteFair-skinned myself, I agree with you about the benefits of colored stones. But far be if from me to deny any diamonds offered to me, anytime, anywhere.
ReplyDeleteDiamonds may not be my best friend, but they can sure make me a friend.
Oh Shell, I'm so thrilled to have found your blog. What an amazing talent you have. So whimsical...I'm going crazy! Lynn
ReplyDeletefrom cali ~ Oooh, a comment from you in Paris! I'm speechless. {Hee hee, as if!} How kind of you not to rub it in and perhaps tell us that only yesterday, you may have walked up these very stairs. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteMargaret ~ I think diamonds might come with a built in 'I'm OK, You're OK' clause.
Paris Boutique Hotel Lynn ~ Welcome, and thank you so very much! We like to have a bit of fun here too, so please do pop in again.
ReplyDeleteLikewise, I'm happy I found your blog. And your store. So much to love in both places!
Aaah, Shell -- what a wonderful drawing of a charming bit of jewelry! I hope that when you do finally visit Paris I'll be there, as well as Petrea and from cali and . . . and . . . and . . . all of us who love that city SOOO much (well put, petrea).
ReplyDeletefrom cali -- you are indeed one lucky woman and I'm sure you deserve both.
Oops, forgot to say how much I love the Paris drawing. It really does make you want to be right there! (Excuse me now while I ignore my work and spend some quality time at the Paris Boutique Hotel.)
ReplyDeleteHey, my word verification is 'redhot'.
Alexa, aka Redhot ~ {Thank you!} Wouldn't that be so amazing for us all to be there at once! I'm guessing our conversations would be constantly interrupted by the snapping of photos {or the fluttering of Moleskines for some quick jottings}. Enjoy Paris Hotel Boutique ~ I might bump into you there under the aqua chandelier!
ReplyDeleteOh Shell, one can never have enough diamonds dear.
ReplyDeleteMmeBenaut ~ I'd have picked you as a diamonds girl!
